Joana Menano começou a praticar Yoga em 1999. A profundidade com que mergulhou na prática do Yoga fê-la sentir que seria este o seu caminho, dedicando-se inteiramente ao seu ensino e ao aprofundamento de conhecimentos e técnicas nesta área. Em 2014 fundou o ARAVINDA YOGA SHALA.
Joana Menano é licenciada em Psicologia e formada em Shiatsu e Yoga. Sempre se interessou bastante pelas áreas das Filosofias Orientais, pelo olhar abrangente que têm sobre o ser humano e suas múltiplas manifestações, isto é, físicas, mentais, emocionais e espirituais. Com base nesta perspectiva, aprendeu diferentes técnicas e abordagens, sempre em busca de um maior auto-conhecimento e realização pessoal.
No seu percurso de Yoga, começou por entrar em contacto com diferentes escolas e métodos entre 1999 e 2004. Em 2004 começou a praticar Hatha Yoga Dinâmico com Carlos Rui Ferreira no Centro Português de Yoga. Neste centro fez o Curso de Instrutores de Yoga entre 2005 e 2008.
Começou a aprender Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga em 2008 com Isa Guitana na Casa Vinyasa, e frequentou durante um ano o curso Your 2nd Practice – Assistants Program. Em 2015 fez o Curso de Ashtanga: First Series Teacher Training, com David Swenson em Lisboa.
Em 2015 aprofundou conhecimentos na área do Yoga Pré-Natal, frequentando o Pre-Natal Yoga Teacher Training organizado por Yogaphoria Project.
Mãe de 2 filhos, descobriu com eles o fascinante mundo do Yoga para Bebés e Crianças. Isso impulsionou-a a querer aprofundar conhecimentos nesta área. Em 2017 fez o Curso de Yoga Baby com Ana Sofia Barrias, na Escola Sunshine Yoga.
Complementarmente ao Yoga estudou Vedanta (Auto-conhecimento / Psicologia Indiana) com Joana Cadete, Glória Arieira, Swami Dayananda, Swami Suddhananda, entre outros professores.
Começou a ensinar Yoga para adultos em 2006 no Estádio Universitário de Lisboa e colaborou ainda com diversos Ginásios e Centros de Yoga em Lisboa. Entre 2009 e 2012 dirigiu o Yogashala Bairro Alto e em Dezembro de 2014 fundou o Aravinda Yoga Shala, onde dá aulas a Adultos e Bebés.
Todos os anos organiza retiros de Yoga e frequenta diversos workshops, cursos e retiros, como forma de complementar a sua formação pessoal e profissional. Das suas viagens à Índia retira sempre uma grande inspiração e aprendizagem de vida, estando eternamente grata por esta dádiva que a vida lhe deu: poder aprender e ensinar Yoga, dando e recebendo, num contínuo processo de troca e transformação.
Joana Menano began practicing Yoga in 1999. The depth with which she immersed herself in the practice of Yoga made her feel that this would be her path, dedicating herself entirely to its teaching and deepening her knowledge and technique in this area. In 2014 she founded ARAVINDA YOGA SHALA.
Joana Menano has a degree in Psychology and a degree in Shiatsu and Yoga. She has always been very interested in Oriental Philosophy, its comprehensive look on human beings and their manifold manifestations, that is, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Based on this perspective, she learned different techniques and approaches, always in search of greater self-knowledge and personal fulfillment.
In her Yoga journey, she began to come into contact with different schools and methods between 1999 and 2004. In 2004 she began to practice Dynamic Hatha Yoga with Carlos Rui Ferreira at the Portuguese Yoga Center, where she took the Yoga Instructors Course between 2005 and 2008.
She started learning Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga in 2008 with Isa Guitana at Casa Vinyasa, and attended her 2nd Practice – Assistants Program for a year. In 2015 she took the Ashtanga Course: First Series Teacher Training, with David Swenson in Lisbon.
In 2015 she deepened her knowledge in prenatal Yoga, attending the Pre-Natal Yoga Teacher Training organized by Yogaphoria Project.
Mother of 2 children, she discovered with both the fascinating world of Yoga for Infants and Children. This drove her to want to deepen her knowledge in this area. In 2017 she took the Yoga Baby Course with Ana Sofia Barrias, at the Sunshine Yoga School.
Complementary to Yoga he studied Vedanta (Self-knowledge / Indian Psychology) with Joana Cadete, Gloria Arieira, Swami Dayananda, Swami Suddhananda, among other teachers.
She began teaching Yoga for adults in 2006 at the University Stadium of Lisbon and collaborated with several Gymnasiums and Yoga Centers in Lisbon. Between 2009 and 2012 she directed the Yogashala Bairro Alto and in December 2014 she founded the Aravinda Yoga Shala, where she teaches Adults and Babies.
Every year she organizes yoga retreats and attends various workshops, courses and retreats as a way to complement her personal and professional training. From her travels to India she always draws great inspiration and life teachings, being eternally grateful for this gift that life has given her: being able to learn and teach Yoga, giving and receiving, in a continuous process of exchange and transformation.
