Restorative yoga practice, which is nourishing to the fascia and cells of the body, is all about finding a way to create a feeling of ease and space in body and mind by practicing stillness or gentle movement for extended periods of time. Props are used to support the body lying down helping the practitioner to achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation.
The first half of this class is based on the use of props and the prolonged holding of a few poses to achieve a deep level of relaxation, breathing, and focus on stretching. You will be guided through each pose slowly and mindfully.
The latter part is dedicated to a short-guided Yoga Nidra, also known as yogic sleep, followed by a chanting practice with a harmonium that will put you in a place between surrender and serenity so that you may return home in your deepest resting place.
All are welcome.
